At it's second meeting of the year, the Steering Committee set the Fund’s direction, endorsed its Investment Framework pooled crisis data financing, aligned on scaling plans in the context of UN80 and the Humanitarian Reset, and approved its extension to 2030.

CRAF’d hosted event, "Live from the UN: Rethink, Reset, Deliver better with Data & AI," brought together global leaders to explore how smarter use of data and technology can unlock new solutions to today’s global challenges.

With support from CRAF’d, IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) released Version 3.0 of its API, enhancing access to data on displacement drivers, origins, and sex. This improves usability and transparency, helping partners respond better to displacement dynamics.

With $18 million invested this year, CRAF's expanded support to key data initiatives. Nearly 96,000 users across 390 organizations accessed CRAF’d-backed insights to guide faster, more targeted crisis response.

With CRAF’d support, Crisis Group has launched eEARTH: The Early Action & Risk Tracking Hub. Designed to detect early warning signs of conflict linked to natural resources, eEARTH combines advanced analytics, field expertise, and political insight to help decision-makers act before violence occurs.

At its first meeting in 2025, the Steering Committee endorsed the Ecosystem Strategy, advanced the Investment Framework, and set priority milestones for 2025-2026 within the UN80 and Humanitarian Reset contexts.

CRAF’d supports the AI-Powered Crisis Computing Workshop in Geneva, organized by the University of Birmingham, Hitotsubashi University, and HBKU. The workshop aimed to harness AI for better action. 

CRAF’d partner, the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre’s launched a brief, which highlights the exposure of over 64 million forcibly displaced people to multiple climate hazards in fragile and crisis-affected settings.

At its second biannual meeting, the CRAF’d Steering Committee endorsed the next phase of gender data projects, reviewed the progress and next steps of the ecosystem strategy and welcomed IOM as a new UN member to the Group.

CRAF’d-supported project Geoguard by the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) was featured as a geospatial innovation for the Horn of Africa at the Conference of the Parties (COP16) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
