ABOUT

Developed by the International Crisis Group, eEARTH is a revolutionary early warning system designed to identify climate-driven conflict pathways in the Horn of Africa. By integrating both quantitative and qualitative data, it offers a comprehensive approach to climate-security risks. Initially piloted in Somalia and South Sudan, eEARTH provides insights into the underlying causes of conflict risks. Its innovative approach is geared towards anticipating, preventing, and addressing the repercussions of climate-related security threats.

International Crisis Groups work in Somalia and South Sudan, areas deeply affected by climate-driven conflicts. The creation of the eEARTH interface stands as a testament to scalable solutions that can seamlessly merge climate data with actionable field-based political insights. As the system is rolled out and refined in collaboration with local stakeholders, it promises a ripple effect. This scalable model, once piloted in the Horn of Africa, can be replicated in other regions, magnifying its impact.
