ABOUT

The PRIMARI project, implemented by the International Organization for Migration, consolidates displacement data collected across more than 100 countries into a single, interoperable system. It brings together over 1,300 datasets, combining survey data, geospatial information, and contextual indicators to create a comprehensive, standardized resource. Delivered through the Displacement Tracking Matrix API and supported by a metadata repository, this enables users to query data across locations, timeframes, and variables without manual processing.

OBJECTIVES

With CRAF’d support, PRIMARI translates this scale into practical use. Humanitarian and development partners can integrate displacement data directly into early warning systems, risk models, and planning tools, improving how trends are analyzed and decisions are made. By linking large-scale data infrastructure with operational workflows, the project strengthens interoperability, supports anticipatory action, and enables faster, more targeted responses in complex and crisis-affected contexts.

IOM proudly led the CRAF’d-funded PRIMARI initiative, demonstrating how DTMs data can be leveraged for predictive insights and early action. The success of this project reflects our commitment to innovation and collaboration in facilitating and informing crisis response.
